Welcome To My Metropolis FIQWS Writing Portfolio

Hi and welcome to my portfolio. I will be presenting you the profound overview of contemporary and modern architecture through my coursework. Our concentration in this course focused on the ways architects, developers, urban philosophers, and social activists have confronted with the complexities of developing, altering, and living in modern metropolises. We took a glance at key architectural projects and debates from the early twentieth century to the present through lectures, seminar discussions, and ‘urban expeditions’ through New York City, engaging critically with principles of modernity and utopia, housing and public space issues, as well as contemporary concerns of sustainability and social justice in the ‘global’ city.

Through this course I was able to obtain knowledge about the  architectural evolution of our modern city, as well as the exploration of the physical realm of the urban sprawl through the prism of New York City’s metropolitan landscapes. With urbanization reaching a new peak in the contemporary world with the rise of mega cities, this course traced the evolution of perception about the contemporary metropolis from its origins in early century aesthetics. It was truly an amazing experience, and it definitely expanded my point of view of our modern world and its citizens.
